Associate Contact & Company to Deals from Record in HubSpot

Overview

Association labels can describe relationships between HubSpot’s CRM objects. HubSpot’s tools allow users building on HubSpot to create custom objects and add connections to a company record. 

Once on a deal record, turn your attention to the right-hand side. There, you can see all the possible associations that can be made. To associate contact records, click the “add” that is next to “contacts.” Then, select the checkboxes of the contacts you want to add to the deal record. Please note: you can also create a new contact and add any necessary information, like their name and email address. 

You can use the same process to add a company association to a deal. You can also create a new company and fill out its information, starting with the company domain name. Be sure to click save!

To make an association on the deal record itself, it's quite easy using the right-hand side pane. You'll see, there are quite a few options here from flight schedules to company, to tickets, et cetera.

If I want to go ahead and associate a contact, all I have to do is select add under the contacts.

You can also see how many contacts are currently associated. I have the option to associate an existing contact or create a new contact that will automatically be associated upon creation.

I'm going to go ahead and add an existing contact here. I'm going to go ahead and search the name of the contact that I want to associate, select this check box.

You'll see the little box pop up here that I have the X to remove in case I accidentally selected that check box there. Once I have the correct contact associated, I can just go ahead and click save and I'll see that my contact has now popped up.

I also can associate a company to the deal doing the exact same thing. Going ahead and selecting add, again, the option to associate a new one that I create directly from this window or an existing one.


I'm going to go ahead and search for the company I want, select the check box, and then select save. If I want to remove any associations, all I have to do is hover over the little box here that I see for the company.

And rather than selecting preview, I just moved my mouse over to this X. You'll see a little box pop up that says to remove association. I select that. You'll get a little pop-up, making sure that's exactly what you want to do. Go ahead and select remove, and then you'll now see that there is no longer the company that is associated with this deal.
